Day 10 - Okamino and Beyond

The rain that is drowning the island and the coast is not making it to the valley, but the associated warm weather of the Pacific is. Apparently, it is raining in Whistler.

Maybe it is that once you say you're going to pay attention to purple cars, that you start to see purple cars everywhere. And so it is with my walking and hiking. On CBC's The Current today, Anna Maria Tremonti interviewed Paul Salopek, Pulitzer prize winner, who is walking literally out of Africa to South America and communicating his experience. His project is called Out of Eden and he is retracing our primordial ancestors' migration from Ehtiopia outwards.  He has many insights on moving about slowly. You might want to follow him on the internet.

Knox was as foggy as I've ever seen. Layers and layers of clouds, some racing in opposite directions from each other.

Going by a favourite tree.

You couldn't even tell where the lake began and the fog met.

Such a beautiful pavillion at the top, someplace where we should meet to sing someday.

Coming back from Paul's tomb, a misty in and out for trees.
