Day 2 - Okamino and Beyond

Another great heArt Fit day at the Rotary Centre for the Arts. Karen had been suggested that we should be curious and build upon a previous painting. "heART Fit encourages stepping into this world of 'risk painting' by finding the courage to continue working with parts of a painting even if you feel nervous that you might 'destroy' it. "

I think Nela has achieved courage and curiosity. Congrats!

When time is limited and you want a decent workout with beautiful surroundings, Knox Mountain in Kelowna fits the bill. Since we've started to "do" Knox many years ago, the number of people that you see has increased dramatically, people of all ages and sizes. We are a kind of fraternity, saying hello to each other as we pass. Some regulars like us must keep the same hours as they are there when you are.

If you need these benches, you should be getting out more.

Ponderosa pines remind me of the white pines of Northern Ontario that I miss. The smell is reminiscent too, a smell that makes you feel good.

I've been walking past this fallen tree for years, but only really saw it today.

In BC it seems, you're always looking straight up or down. This is the pavilion at the top of Knox.

And so I see the pattern for this day. Last Friday night, one of our book club devotees told us she communicates in a fashion with trees. We didn't let her off easy, but maybe she's on to something. They certainly speak to me.
